My daughter, Jerricah, and I went to this festival yesterday. It was a bit disappointing because all it was really was a few book vendors set up under a tarp-like roof. Well, I mean disappointing as in there were so few vendors. I appreciate and respect those that did turn up. There needs to be more literary people like them!
It had rained a lot before we left for the festival, and was cloudy, wet and cool the entire time we were there, which was nice. We walked around Downtown Little Rock a lot and took many pictures.
I’ve never seen this building before, or at least the wonderful giant photos up there.
And we stopped at a cafe to get some drinks.
Before taking more photos. The next one of the rose, Jerricah took ‘macro-style’ and she was so proud of it that I thought I’d put that one up too.
The rain held off just long enough, and while we were heading back to the car, it started back up again and pretty much rained all day.
I did end up buying a book at the festival, or actually two because the one I bought came with a free one called Vortex. I got something called The Exquisite Corpse Annual I, as the guy selling them was pretty convincing. I have to admit though that the book caught my attention with it’s odd and almost macabre-like cover. I’m not entirely sure yet what it is other than a collection of strange poetry and ‘journals of letters and life’, apparently written by several different people, who I’m also not sure yet if all of them are from Arkansas. The guy did say something about an Arkansas college (UCA?).
Anyway, it looks really interesting. Weird. Dark. Out of the box. Right up my alley. :-)
Their web site looks pretty interesting, too.
